Send Tally Documents Directly to WhatsApp
Invoices, receipts, payments, credit notes, debit notes, ledger reports, outstanding statements — send any of them from Tally straight to your client's WhatsApp. One button, no export, no contact search. Free for 14 days.
Download from tallywhatsapp.in, install, scan the QR code, restart Tally. A Send to WhatsApp button now sits on every voucher and report. Click it, confirm, and the PDF lands in your customer's chat. 14-day free trial, then ₹999/year.
The routine this replaces
Every business running Tally knows these six steps by heart:
- Create the document in Tally — invoice, receipt, payment report.
- Export it as a PDF.
- Open WhatsApp.
- Search for the customer.
- Attach the file.
- Send.
Forty seconds if nothing goes wrong. Do it thirty times at month end and you've lost twenty minutes to clicking. Do it in a hurry and you attach the wrong PDF to the wrong customer, which costs considerably more than twenty minutes to undo.
What replaces it
You don't leave Tally at all. Open the voucher you were going to send, press the Send to WhatsApp button in the right-hand panel, confirm once, and Tally hands the PDF to the connector. Control returns to you immediately — delivery runs in the background.
The customer's number comes from their party ledger, so there's no contact to search for and no chance of picking the wrong chat.
What you can send
- Sales invoices
- Receipts
- Payments
- Credit notes
- Debit notes
- Ledger reports
- Outstanding statements
Each document type has its own message template and its own on/off switch, so you can enable sales invoices and leave everything else alone until you're ready.
Installing it
1. Download
Go to tallywhatsapp.in and click download. The trial is full-featured for 14 days — no card, no key needed to start.
2. Run the installer
Double-click the MSI. Windows asks for permission (UAC) because the connector installs as a Windows service — click Yes.
You may see a SmartScreen notice saying the publisher isn't recognised. Click More info → Run anyway. This appears because our code-signing certificate is still in progress, not because anything is wrong with the file. Please don't switch off your antivirus to install software — you shouldn't need to, and it's a habit worth never starting. If the install genuinely fails, tell us and we'll look at it.
3. Pair your WhatsApp
After install you'll find a TallyWhatsApp icon on your desktop. Open it and the dashboard loads in your browser, showing a QR code. On your phone: WhatsApp → Settings → Linked Devices → Link a Device, then point the camera at the code.
This is standard WhatsApp Multi-Device pairing, the same as WhatsApp Web. Your phone stays in charge; this is just another linked device. Your own number sends the messages, so customers see you, not a business API sender ID.
4. Restart Tally
The installer already registers the TDL for you — it patches every tally.ini on the
machine to load tallywhatsapp.tdl from
C:\Program Files\TallyWhatsApp\TDL. You don't need to load it by hand, and doing so
would add a duplicate entry.
Just close TallyPrime completely and reopen it. To confirm it worked, press F1 →
TDL & Add-On → TDL Configuration and check that
tallywhatsapp.tdl is listed and set to Yes.
5. Configure what you want sent
Back on the dashboard, open Settings and pick which document types send a message, which send a PDF, and what each message says. Sales and Ledger are on by default; the rest start off.
Sending your first document
Open any invoice, receipt, payment, credit note, debit note, ledger report or outstanding statement. The Send to WhatsApp button is in the side panel. Press it, confirm Yes, and Tally shows a brief Queued message.
A few seconds later the PDF is in your customer's chat. Every send is listed in the dashboard's Activity Log with its status and a Resend button, so you always know what went out.
Worth knowing before you rely on it
Two honest points, because you'll hit both eventually.
Numbers must be in the party ledger. The connector reads the phone number from
the customer's ledger. A 10-digit mobile is fine — 91 is added automatically — but a
blank field means nothing can be sent. Fixing your ledgers is the one bit of prep worth doing
up front.
Pacing is deliberate. Sends are spaced out rather than fired in a burst, and there's a daily ceiling that starts low on a new number and rises over the first few days. That's there to protect your WhatsApp account: identical messages blasted to hundreds of people is what gets numbers restricted. The dashboard's Account Safety panel shows where you stand, and warns you if your templates have become too repetitive. Sending to people who expect your invoices matters more than any setting.
Getting started
Fourteen days, full features, no card. If it saves you the twenty minutes it's meant to, it's ₹999 a year after that. If it doesn't, uninstall it and nothing happens.
